Monkey’s Pull Apart Sweet Bread
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 55 minutes
Serves: 8 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp salted butter, melted
- 1 cup salted butter
- 6 tbsp cinnamon sugar, divided
- 3 (12.4oz) cans cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 tsp almond extract
- Optional: fresh raspberries and blueberries
How to Make:
- Brush the melted butter all over a bundt pan. Have a grown-up help you open the cinnamon rolls one can at a time and cut each one in half. Set the frosting aside for later!
- In a re-closable plastic bag, add the roll pieces and 2 tbsp of cinnamon sugar. Close the bag and toss it all together. Place the pieces in the prepared bundt pan. Repeat this step with all the remaining cinnamon sugar and rolls to fill the bundt pan.
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of butter and all the brown sugar. With help from an adult, heat this on medium-high, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves. Remove it from heat and stir in the almond extract.
- Carefully pour the mixture over the roll pieces. Bake it in the oven at 350°F for 35-40 minutes, or until it looks golden brown. Let it cool for about 5 minutes.
- Loosen the pull-apart bread around the edges and cover the pan with a serving plate. Let a grown-up help you turn the pan and plate over. This should un-stick the bread from the
pan so it sits on the plate, ready to serve. Drizzle the icing on top and decorate your loaf with raspberries or blueberries if you like! Try cutting the bread into slices or pulling it apart with your hands.
Monkey’s Tip: If your bread loaf is stuck, try using a rubber spatula around the sides or tapping the pan on a countertop to loosen it!
